Questions

We know navigating senior care options brings up a lot of questions. Here are honest answers to the ones families ask us most.

About Our Services

A Senior Care Consultant acts as your personal guide and advocate through the complex world of elder care. We assess your loved one's physical, cognitive, emotional, and financial needs, then help your family explore the full range of care options — from in-home care to assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and beyond. We handle the research, schedule tours, attend meetings with you, and remain by your side until your loved one is safely and comfortably placed.

Yes — our consultations and guidance are provided at no cost to families. We are compensated by senior care communities through placement fees when a placement is made. Critically, this never influences our recommendations. We only present communities that genuinely match your loved one's specific care needs, preferences, and budget. Our reputation depends on putting families first.

Online directories provide a list — we provide a relationship. Our consultants meet personally with your family, conduct thorough needs assessments, visit facilities on your behalf, and know the local communities intimately. We cut through the marketing language to tell you what a facility is really like: staffing levels, culture, incident history, and how it fits your family's specific needs. It's the difference between a Google search and a trusted advisor.

Not at all. We guide families through all levels of elder care — independent living, assisted living, memory care / dementia communities, skilled nursing facilities, in-home care coordination, respite care, and rehabilitation transitions. If your situation doesn't fit neatly into one category, that's exactly where our expertise helps most.

Getting Started

The best time is earlier than you think. Many families reach out only in a crisis — after a fall, a hospitalization, or when a caregiver is burning out. But our most successful engagements start months before a transition is needed, when your family has time to be thoughtful, visit multiple options, and plan carefully. If you're beginning to notice cognitive changes, increasing care needs, or caregiver stress, that's the right time to call.

The first call or meeting is all about listening. We want to understand your loved one's medical history, daily living needs, personality, hobbies, cultural preferences, and what matters most to your family. We'll also discuss budget and insurance coverage. This conversation helps us build a complete picture and immediately begin identifying care options that might be the right fit. There's no obligation — just thoughtful, compassionate conversation.

Absolutely. We have guided many families through urgent hospital discharge situations, sudden cognitive decline events, and crises where a loved one can no longer safely live alone. In these situations, we move quickly — identifying appropriate short-term and long-term solutions, coordinating with discharge planners, and ensuring no family is pressured into a poor decision just because of time constraints. Call us immediately — we're here.

Care & Placement

We only recommend facilities we have personally visited and evaluated. We maintain ongoing relationships with communities across Harris, Fort Bend, Montgomery, and surrounding counties and regularly update our knowledge of staffing, quality of care, pricing, and culture. We consider your loved one's specific clinical needs, personality, cultural background, language preferences, and budget — and we never recommend a facility simply because they pay a higher referral fee.

Yes. Our team includes bilingual (English/Spanish) consultants and we have strong relationships with communities that serve Houston's diverse Latino, Vietnamese, Nigerian, and other cultural communities. We believe every family deserves guidance in their preferred language and within their cultural context.

Your family's satisfaction and your loved one's wellbeing are our ongoing responsibility. If a placement isn't the right fit for any reason — whether it's care quality, culture, social fit, or changing medical needs — we will work with you to find a better option. Our relationship with your family doesn't end at move-in day.

Yes, this is a situation we help with regularly. We work with families relocating a parent or grandparent to the Houston area from other states or cities. We can begin the assessment process remotely, gather medical records and care history, and have options ready well before the move so the transition is as smooth as possible.

Costs & Insurance

Costs vary significantly based on level of care, location, and facility type. In the Greater Houston area, assisted living typically ranges from $2,800 to $5,500 per month, while memory care communities often range from $3,800 to $7,000+ per month. Skilled nursing facilities are generally higher. We help your family understand all-in costs, what's included vs. added on, and how to maximize your budget without compromising quality.

Medicare does not cover assisted living or memory care. However, Medicare may cover short-term skilled nursing or rehabilitation stays following a hospital admission. Medicaid (through Texas STAR+PLUS) may help with some care costs for qualifying individuals in certain settings. Long-term care insurance, veterans benefits (Aid & Attendance), and personal assets are typically the main funding sources. We help families understand and navigate all available options.

We work with families at all financial levels. There are quality, compassionate care communities at a range of price points throughout the Houston area — and we know where they are. We can also help explore veterans benefits, long-term care insurance, Medicaid waiver programs, and creative financial planning strategies. No family should feel that budget limitations prevent them from getting expert guidance.
